michael-austin-december-seniorMichael Austin was chosen the December student of the month. Michael demonstrates many of the characteristics that are favored in a student – Michael is friendly towards other students, faculty and administration; he is always respectful! He is supportive and helpful with his peers in class. Michael has both excellent attendance and grades. He maintains an extraordinary GPA – above 4.0. He always does his very best in his classes. Mrs. Balkey notes that he never complains and his assignments are always completed on time. With any project assigned, he takes great pride in completing them, with an incredible amount of effort and thought put into each. He goes over and above the basic requirements displaying
a wonderful work ethic!

Michael is a member of the National Honor Society and the HS Relay for Life team. He is always willing to help when called upon for group projects. Michael was selected by his art teacher as one of the students to have his artwork displayed last year at Artists in Cahoots in Lexington. Most recently, Michael displayed his artwork at the art show downtown in Buena Vista. Michael has played on the PMHS tennis team during his high school years. He placed 3rd the region last year.

Michael is an active member of the First Brethren church. Michael is the student of the month for December and we are proud to have him as one of the Fighting Blues who continually goes the extra mile both academically and personally. Congratulations Michael!
