Kevin Chandler Morrison has been chosen as Parry McCluer High School’s Senior of the Month for April 2014. Kevin is the son of Tim and Kathy Morrison of Buena Vista.
Kevin is an active member of the PMHS Marching Band, Chorus and Baseball. He lettered in all and was selected to be Drum Major for the PMHS Marching Blues for the past two years. Kevin is a member of National Honor Society and received the William and Mary Leadership Award his Junior year. Kevin is completing his school Mentorship program at the Lexington News Gazette and with Delegate Ben Cline. In addition to coursework and extracurricular activities, Kevin finds time in his schedule to read the Daily Announcements for PMHS.
Kevin is as active in the Buena Vista community as he is at PMHS. He is a member of the Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, the Church Youth Group and their Worship Band “Undefeated”.
Kevin is well-respected by the administration, faculty, coaches and students of Parry McCluer High School. Ms. Melissa Cobb states, “Kevin is a diligent student who has fabulous school spirit, makes all students feel welcome at PMHS and has made sure all NHS activities have been well executed.” PMHS School Counselors report that Kevin is always willing to help, which has greatly benefited the 8th Grade Transition Program. After high school, Kevin plans to attend a two-year college and transfer to the University of South Carolina. He will major in Journalism and minor in Pre-Law. His goal is to become an attorney and focus on defending the First Amendment with an emphasis on religious freedom.
