jasmineJasmine Carter has been selected as the December Senior of the Month. She is the daughter of Claudia Carter of Buena Vista.

Jasmine demonstrates many of the qualities that are appreciated by PMHS faculty and students.  Her characteristic friendliness can be seen in the halls as she smiles at students and speaks to teachers while walking to class. Administrators and teachers state she is always respectful and willing to help with anything that is needed.

Jasmine has excellent attendance and grades. She is able to maintain a 3.6 GPA while being involved in many extra-curricular activities during her high school years. Some would describe Jasmine as a natural group leader. Additionally, Jasmine is a member of Interact and SIRPHA (Students in Rockbridge Promoting Health Alternatives). She attended YADAPP and won a $250.00 grant to implement a plan for drug prevention.

As a sophomore, Jasmine was part of the District Choir. She performed in the Color Guard for three years and was Captain of the Color Guard her junior year.  She also has participated in model UN.

Jasmine is equally involved in the community. She has a part-time job, as a dietary aid, at Golden Living and is an active member of Pentecostal Outreach Church. Jasmine has been accepted at Sweet Briar College.  Her hope is to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country and later pursue a career as a History or Spanish teacher.
