Announcements

This message is from Dr. Walton, principal at Kling Elementary.  Today, we evacuated the building due to a smell which was generated by the switch from air conditioning to heat.  At the time, we were uncertain about the origin of the smell, so the fire department was called and students and staff were evacuated from the building in order to assess the situation.  Students and staff were never in danger and the students and teachers resumed their normal schedule in a timely fashion.  Please know that the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance at Kling Elementary.

Superintendent´s Message

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Superintendent of Buena Vista City Public Schools. I look forward continuing to work with the parents, guardians, students, staff, and community members of this proud city.

As we begin a new school year I am excited that we can focus on what matters the most,  which is our students and families. While we have faced many challenges during the past few years, our staff has stayed the course and committed themselves to our students. Education continues to change butour first priority is providing a sound education for our students.

Our theme for the year is “Be the one, be a Blue”. This theme focuses on being present for our students, families, and each other which is the essence of “being a Blue”. I look forward to a great year and hope to see you at one of our schools.

“Go Blue!”

Tony Francis, Ed.D.
